My Farewell

I'm writing this simply to clear the air about my decision to leave Mashup Mondays at Rockwood, and I'll try to keep it short & sweet.

This was my favorite weekly party & truly one of, if not THE dopest residency I've ever had. The team & staff are awesome, I've met some amazing people there & I've had the opportunity to bring my DJ friends from all over to spin & enjoy it with me. What I loved most about this night was that it was different than any other club night in the city. I was able to play my rarest, most enjoyable mix of music to a diverse crowd who enjoyed partying to a vibe that they couldn't get just anywhere. It was the alternative to the average TOP 40/Urban club night that happens in every club, every weekend in every city....and I loved it for that!

Unfortunately I guess it was too good to last, & after spinning Mondays for over 2 1/2 years, it seems to have become just another regular club night, to me at least. I play tons of regular club nights all over the world, and they're cool, but Mondays were my "different" night where I didn't have to play all the latest hits all the time to make people happy. I feel like it's changed over time, as most things do, and for this reason it's simply not the same for me anymore.

I'm thankful for having had the opportunity to play this night for the time that I did, as it was enjoyable, fulfilling, and it definitely helped me grow as a DJ. It's been my pleasure to introduce newer & older music to ears that may not have heard it otherwise. And I'm proud to have been a part of the award winning team who built this legendary night from the ground up. We set out to accomplish something, and we did it!

I wish the team, and the staff nothing but the best for the future of Mashup Mondays at Rockwood. I'm sad to be walking away, and I will definitely miss it, but I feel that it's time for me to move on.

Hope that clears it up. No hard feelings whatsoever, and if anything I've said here or prior seems offensive, know that it was not my intention. Simply saying what I feel, and those who know me know that's just who I am.

NEW MIX: SNAKESKIN

Bonjourrrr!!!!

As you may know I just got back from my most recent European Tour on which I rocked shows in Oporto Portugal, Brussels Belgium, Napoli Italy and ended it all off in Paris France! How was it? DOPE SAUCE!!!!! Despite the fact that I did it solo (sans Short Sirkit on) it was a really great tour!

Just before I left however, I recorded a NEW MIX for the homie DJ SNAKE's podcast in Paris. He's one of the brightest rising stars on the scene, tearing up Europe & his production is starting to make noise worldwide. He's a part of our Int'l DJ Team "THE FEDS" so u know I gotta big him up! But for real, dude is on fire right now! DJ SNAKE and his new production partner CLINTON SPARKS, together known as LOGAN DeGAULLE, have produced tracks & remixes for TYRESE, PITBULL, CHESTER FRENCH & have lotssss more to come!

Portugal...WOW!!!!

So I took my 1st trip to Portugal yesterday, and played at the Azurara Beach Party , which they tell me is the biggest beach party in Europe. All I can say is....WOW!!!!! AMAZINGGGAAAA!!!! Such a huge event, excellent production & soooo many people! Approx 35,000 peeps to be exact! Not bad for my 1st ever gig in Portugal lol.

BIG shouts to DJ Overule, MC Virgul, DJ Walgee, DJ Branco P, all the organizers & of course the fans who came out & partied from afternoon straight thru to this morning! I admit, I tapped out at about 5am lol. Still jetlagged. Portugal, I'll definitely be back!!!!

I flew back to my Euro base, Brussels, today & I'm chillin out with the homie DJ PSAR. Tomorrow I'll be doing another mix for the radio show BRAND NEW w/ the homies Vinz, Emilliot & Oneted. Tuesday I'm spinning at CRYSTAL LOUNGE w/ PSAR & guess what? The homie JAYCEEOH will be hanging out too! This sounds like trouble lol. Musical minds meeting...watch out!

Wed I fly to Italy to do a beach party in NAPOLI w/ my dude DJ K BLAST! Looking fwd to it, last summer it was AWESOMENESS!!!! That's the flyer above.

R.I.P DJ AM

A true pioneer, inspiration & all around great guy. I never had the pleasure of meeting him personally but I've seen him play a few times & we have tons of mutual friends. A huge loss to our profession & to his friends & family, stay up. It's hard to see it now I'm sure, but we all know everything happens for a reason & he's in a better place now. Rest in peace Adam Goldstein aka DJ AM!
